IMPERFECT: Regular

Rules:

The imperfect tense of regular verbs is formed by adding the following endings to the stem of the verb. This is the "other" past tense in Spanish, and it is generally used to indicate recurring actions in the past:

aba ábamos
abas abais
aba aban
ía íamos
ías íais
ía ían
ía íamos
ías íais
ía ían
Examples:
  • I was eating. = Yo comía.
  • They used to work. = Ellos trabajaban.
